I was very excited today when I was watering one of the garden beds and looked down to see what looks like basil seedlings emerging. They are still tiny, and hidden between the sunflowers and pak choy that sprouted on its own, but I am pretty sure that’s basil.

I planted a lot – my last crop failed completely and I am out of pesto – and it didn’t look like any was going to sprout. So fingers crossed soon there will be more basil than I know what to do with, and then lots of delicious pesto.
